Does the Sewer Bill Have to Be Mailed to Me

Does the sewer bill have to be mailed to me if I'm not living in the home?

The Susquehanna Township Authority rules and regulations state that all sewer bills must be mailed to the property owner even when that owner does not live in the property. In other words, even if a property is a rental occupied by a tenant who is responsible for paying the sewer bill, that sewer bill must be mailed to the property owner. It is then the responsibility of the landlord to forward the bill to the tenant for payment.

The only exception to this regulation is if the rental property is managed by an outside Management Company. In this case, the property owner can elect to have the sewer bills mailed to the property management company. This can be accomplished by completing the "Property Billing Authorization" form and submitting the completed form to the Authority office. Please note that this form MUST be completed and signed by the property owner; only an original owner’s signature will make the form valid.

Once completed, please submit the Property Billing Authorization form to the Authority via regular mail at 1900 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110 or fax to the Authority office at (717) 540-4295 or click here to email to the STA Admin.
