Dog Licenses

Pennsylvania State Law mandates that all dogs 3 months of age or older must be licensed. Licenses must be renewed annually by January 1, with the exception of a lifetime license. State Dog Wardens are currently performing "License and Rabies Compliance Checks" throughout the state. State Dog Wardens may issue fines up to $300.00 per dog for violation of the Dog Law, plus court costs.

License applications should be mailed to Dauphin County Treasurer Janis Creason, 101 Market Street, Room 105, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Click here to view or download the Dog License Application.

Licenses may also be purchased online at the PA Dog License website.

Lifetime licenses can be obtained through the Treasurer's Office. Please visit the Dauphin County website or call (717) 780-6550 for more information.

Please protect your dog; buy a license. It's the law, and it is your dog's ticket home.
