PARK RENTALS – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I rent a park, pavilion or field?

Because all our parks are public parks, we do not rent the entire park. Instead, we rent pavilions, fields, and courts for specific time periods.

Parks are open from Dawn to Dusk daily.  Park facilities are available from April through October. We begin accepting rental requests for the year on March 1st.

PLEASE NOTE THAT VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION!  CONSTRUCTION IS EXPECTED TO FINISH UP IN THE SPRING.  BECAUSE OF THIS, THE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK PAVILION IS EXPECTED TO BE UNAVAILABLE FOR RENT DURING APRIL/MAY 2018 AND MAY BE LIMITED IN MAY AND JUNE 2018. PORT-A-JOHNS ARE PROVIDED FOR PARK USERS WHILE THE BATHROOMS ARE UNAVAILABLE.

Pavilion rentals cost $15 per hour on holidays and weekends (Saturday-Sunday) and $12.50 per hour during the week (Monday-Friday). Field rentals cost $30 per hour. Courts cost $20 per hour.

When a facility is rented, we give the lessee a Rental Permit stating the time, date, and facility that is to be used. If a field or court is not reserved, it may be used by anyone during regular park hours. 

To process a rental request, we must receive a Pavilion & Park Facility Rental Request Form or Field/Court Rental Request Form, the rental fees, and (for pavilions) a separate $25 (refundable) Damage Deposit. Once we have received all three, we will hold the time and date while we process your request. When the request is approved, we will send a Rental Permit to the lessee. 

Rules and Regulations for Pavilion and Park Facility (Field/Court) Rentals

Can I reserve a Park Pavilion over the phone?

No, we cannot take a reservation over the phone. Because we rent on a first come, first served basis, we need to receive the Park Facility Rental Form, the fee payment for the rental, and the $25 Deposit all at the same time in order to process your request and hold the date for you. You CAN call and check if the date is currently open before submitting your rental request. 

Can I have my Pavilion Rental catered?

Catering of Pavilion Rentals requires approval by the Township. If you wish to request permission to bring a caterer to your event, you must provide proof of Liability Insurance (with the Township listed as a "co-insured") as well as a copy of the caterer's current food/restaurant license. 

Am I allowed to bring my own grill, bounce houses, caterers, pony rides, a smoker, tents, etc to my pavilion rental?

All concessions & caterers must have the written permission of the Township Manager. Any caterers must provide a copy of their PA State Food License and proof of insurance covering Susquehanna Township as an additional insured. This includes the owners of any smokers or other free-standing food preparation equipment. 

Any temporary additions to the park (including, but not limited to, bounce houses, pony rides, and tents at pavilion rentals) are not permitted due to possible damage to the park facilities. 

Charcoal grills in addition to those on-site are permitted, but should not be placed close to buildings.

Use of gas grills requires liability insurance with Susquehanna Township listed as co-insured, proof of which is required before the Rental Permit will be approved. They should also not be placed close to buildings.
