Tapping Fees

A tapping fee is the cost levied upon anyone who is tapping into the Authority's sanitary sewer system for the first time. The tapping fees in Susquehanna Township are set by the Authority Board and are used toward, among other things, the expansion, maintenance and repair of our system. Tapping fees must be paid to the Authority prior to connecting a property to the Authority's system for the first time and once paid, the Authority will issue a sewer permit.

The Authority's base tapping fee is $560.00 per EDU and can increase from this base amount if the property needing the permit is located in a Special Purpose District.  Please see below for more information.  If you are in need of a sewer permit, please call the Authority office at (717) 545-0116. Once you provide the address and the anticipated water usage (for commercial properties only), you will be informed of the cost of your permit and when it will be ready for pickup. No sewer permit will be released prior to payment being received.
