Suspicious Package/Letter Procedure
With the recent events occurring nationwide concerning chemical and
biological agents, the following guide lines should be followed when
receiving suspicious letters and packages.
Only consider handling the package or letter if there are no leaking fluids or
powdery substances on the outside of the package or letter. Also
note if there are any suspicious odors.
If the letter or package is not opened, has a return address, and has no
leaking fluids or powdery substances, a suggestion would be to write on
the item "return to sender" and place it back in the mail.
Of course, if there is any doubt, please feel free to call the police
through the dispatch telephone number of 717-558-6900.
Bicycle Registration
Every year, the police department recovers a large volume of stolen bicycles.
Unfortunately, the majority of these bicycles do not have a Susquehanna
Township bicycle license. Without a bicycle license, we are unable to
track down the owner. To register your bicycle, stop by the police
station and fill out a small form, or make contact with a police
officer. They will be happy to assist you. This license is
free of charge.
If you have had a bicycle
stolen in the past, you may call the police department and make
arrangements to view these recovered bicycles. The telephone
number is 717-652-8265.
Baseball Card Collection Program Continues
The Susquehanna Township Police Department are continuing their baseball card collection program. Each of the Police Department's
forty officers has had baseball cards made to hand out to Township
children. These cards have a picture of the officer on the front
and a short biography and personal message on the back. Collect all 40!
THE CHIEF OF POLICE MAY BE REACHED AT 717-909-9282.
