OFFICER TO SERVE OVERSEAS

We would like to wish Patrolman Christopher Croft GOOD LUCK!  He is being deployed to the Middle East.  He is currently going through some training in Washington and then will return home for the holidays before he heads to the Middle East for deployment in January '08.  He will be returning in January '09.  

GOOD LUCK AND BE SAFE BROTHER!!!!!!

 

OFFICERS RECENTLY PROMOTED

Recently three officers were promoted.  They are SGT. BRIAN TIENTER, CPL. SHAWKI LACEY and DETECTIVE MICHAEL MULL.  Sgt. Tienter will be in charge of "D" Platoon. Cpl. Lacey will be assigned to "B" Platoon under SGT. Kauffman and Det. Mull will be assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division under LT. Pastucka and Sgt. Nelson. Congratulations and best of luck in your new positions.

 

NEW OFFICERS HIRED

The Susquehanna Township Police Department would like to welcome four new officers to the department.  They are:  

Demetrius Glenn, a U.S. Marine Corps, grew up in Washington D.C. , served in private security in Kuwait , presently working for Pheaa.

William Jackson, graduated from Susquehanna Twp. H.S., served in U.S. Air Force, presently a mechanic.

Julio Ferrufino, born in Nicaragua , grew up in New York City and Jersey City , served 10 years in U.S. Marine Corps, presently a Department Of Defense Police Officer.

Timothy Zechman, born and raised in Lebanon County , served in U.S. Army, presently a North Londonderry Twp. Officer.  

Zechman will start with a field training officer in January 2008.  Glenn, Jackson and Ferrufino will attend the 93rd police academy at HACC starting in January 2008.  While in the academy, they will undergo 20 rigorous weeks of training.  Following graduation at the end of May, they will be assigned to a field training officer for approximately 10 weeks where they will be simultaneously trained on-the-job and evaluated for competency.  After this portion, they will be assigned to a normal patrol platoon and permanent patrol beat.  They will serve as a probationary officer until January 2009.  When you see her on the street later this year, wish her well and welcome her to our department

 

CORPORAL RONALD REINHART AWARDED OFFICER OF THE QUARTER 

Chief Martin reported to the officers:

"IT GIVES ME GREAT PLEASURE TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE OFFICER OF THE QUARTER FOR THE THIRD QUARTER OF THIS YEAR IS CORPORAL RONALD REINHART. CORPORAL REINHART HAS DISTINGUISED HIMSELF AS A RISING LEADER ON THIS AGENCY, AND VOLUNTEERED TO TAKE ON MOST OF THE ACCREDITATION ASSIGNMENTS GIVEN TO “C” PLATOON (Sgt. Jeff Vargo.) IN ADDITION, HE LEADS FROM THE FRONT ON THE MISSION OBJECTIVES OF OUR DEPARTMENT AND PRESENTS HIMSELF IN A MANNER TO THE PUBLIC THAT BRINGS GREAT CREDIT TO HIMSELF AND OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT. "  

Cpl. Reinhart has been with the Susquehanna Township Police Department since 1998 and has been in law enforcement since 1993.  CONGRATS CPL.!!!!
