Why am I
asked to send in two separate checks for my July taxes?
A:
On July 1, you will receive a bill for School Real Estate Taxes and also
a bill for Personal Occupation and Per Capita Tax. You pay both of
these at this office and may mail the two checks in the same envelope.
However, your payments are recorded in two different computer programs
for the two different taxes; and then the Personal Tax money must be
divided between the School District and the Township. So, essentially
it eases bookkeeping problems for us and also allows you to have clear
records of each tax that you have paid.
