AARP Safe Driving Certification Class

Township Recreation in conjunction with AARP is offering the
Defensive Driver Safety course for anyone over the age of 55,
township residency not required. . Attendance in the class
secures you three years of certification as a “Safe Driver” plus the
percentage reduction on your insurance premium.
Advance
registration is required for this class in order to secure materials
and provide adequate seating. Space is limited; please call 909-9228

Boating Safety Certification (4 TWO HOUR SESSION)
The US Coast
Guard Auxiliary will offer a four week Boating Safety course.
This course will qualify attendees for the PA and USCG Safe Boating
Certification. The course covers all the necessary basics for
piloting recreational boats. It is highly recommended for boaters
of all skill levels and required for all born after 1981. Topics
for review include: Intro to Boating, Maritime Laws, Safety
Equipment, Navigation, Trailering and Hunting and Fishing
regulations.
Registration
is required for appropriate planning and materials. Please call the

“Hiking the Appalachian Trail and State Parks!”
Middle School
teachers Todd McCall and Trevar Scheuch will lead a week long hiking,
state park exploration course. A van will transport up to 20 students
to a segment of the Appalachian Trail for a day long hike. Pack a
lunch, wear comfortable shoes and spend a day/week in the wilds of
Pennsylvania. Middle school ages of 12 -15 male or female welcome on
this trip.

This course is a
companion class to those SAT preps taught in math by Anne Rogalski and
uses the same book. If a student has not taken Mrs. Rogalski’s class
in June, a copy of that book must be acquired for this course. SAT
Verbal prep focuses on test-readiness, familiarity with the test
questions, and strategies for improving scores. Each section of the
verbal component is reviewed and analyzed so that the student will feel
more confident when taking the SAT.

Every Wednesday,
at 10 AM, certified Fitness Instructor Dorothy Bangert leads an hour
long fitness session in the Susquehanna Room of the Township Building.
This donation only program, stresses balance exercises, stretching,
muscle building with a low impact safe level for the mature body. The
program is adapted for all, especially those dealing with the effects of
diabetes, arthritis, joint replacements, rheumatoid osteoarthritis and
other ailments. Drop in any Wednesday, 10 AM . No registration
