On August 2,
2007; A yard and housing code inspection with Albert Wrightstone,
Jr., Building Inspector at 124 Fort Hunter Road and various
violations were found including the septic system failing.
On August 3, 2007; A yard inspection at 1536 Creek Bed Drive to
check on the status of a motor home which was parked too close to
the property line and the resident was asked to have the motor home
removed from the area.
On August 3, 2007; A re-inspection at Price-Rite to make sure that
the dumpster site had been corrected and it was. The case is now
closed.
On August 3, 2007; An inspection to check at 3800 Elmerton Avenue to
check the swamp area out back and a violation letter was sent out
concerning the high grass and weeds present around the swamp area.
On August 6, 2007; A meeting with David Dyer to check on several
property violation up town, Mountaindale area and also in the
Edgemont area.
On August 6, 2007; A meeting with Leslie Roberson at 2307 Canby
Street about the property next door at 2305 Canby Street. Another
meeting occurred on August 7, 2007 and photos were taken for an
accumulation of dog feces in the backyard. A citation was issued.
On August 7, 2007; A yard inspection was done at 2641 Cranberry
Circle for an accumulation of trash left behind when the tenant
moved out. A violation letter was sent and the trash was still there
and a citation was issued.
On August 8, 2007; A meeting with Michael Rohrer, Zoning Officer and
Chuck Heller, Realtor over the purchasing of the property at 2224
Walnut Street. He is hoping to purchase the property in the early
fall.
On August 8, 2007; A dog bite at 101 Brookwood Terrace. The animal
was vaccinated and the dog was quarantined at home. The owner
provided a health certificate after the quarantine period had ended
and the case is now closed.
On August 8, 2007; A re-inspection of the property at 3422
Schoolhouse Lane with Albert Wrightstone, Jr; Building Inspector and
some improvement had been made in the kitchen and the den. It was
stated to the owners of the property that a letter concerning the
structure was needed. An estimate was provided. A re-inspection of
the property is scheduled for Friday, September 14, 2007.
On August 8, 2007; An inspection at Best Western occurred with
Albert Wrightstone, Jr., assisting for bed bugs. The bugs had been
found by a occupant of the hotel at Room 238. The Hotel had already
contracted with Home Paramount. There was no evidence of live bed
bugs present. The pest control company was scheduled to come back
and do another application.
No further investigation was needed and the case was closed.
On August 9, 2007; A meeting occurred at 4159 Beaufort Hunt Drive
with the owners of the husky that had bitten on August 8. The husky
was up-to-date of his shots and a home quarantine was allowed. A
health certificate was furnished. This same dog bite on August 29,
2007 when a friend of their son’s came knocking at the door and the
dog came around the corner and bite the boy on his right arm. The
dog was quarantined again and a health certificate was provided. I
was on vacation at the time of the second bite and Dauphin County
Dog Warden, Diane Buhl, assisted with this investigation. She issued
a citation for not having the dog a current dog license. At the
present time; this case is closed. But it was stated to the owners
of the dog that if another bite occurs with this dog; then we will
be seeking Dangerous Dog through the courts.
On August 9, 2007; An Angel Touch was inspected for Massage Therapy
and the facility is in total compliance with the ordinances for the
township.
On August 10, 2007; A Yard Inspection occurred with Eric Naguski
from the Dauphin County Conservation District at 1402 Montfort
Drive. There was no evidence of mosquitoes present which can carry
West Nile Virus. The case was closed.
On August 15, 2007; An inspection occurred around the Wayne Avenue
and Clayton Avenue addressed for flies. There were some flies but
not enough to warrant a panic. The area will continue to be
monitored.
On August 16, 2007; A re-inspection of the property at 2305 Canby
Street and a major infestation of Fruit Flies was present at the
time of the re-inspection. The owner of the property was ordered to
have a professional exterminator come in and take care of the fruit
flies. She was required to provide proof of extermination by August
31, 2007 and she did.
On August 16, 2007; A bat was removed from the outside at the
Beaufort Hunt Plaza and taken to the Vet Lab on Cameron street for
testing. The bat was negative for rabies.
On August 16, 2007; A meeting about the Pandemic flu with Brad Reist,
Brad Delancy and Ray Barth about how to prepare the township for the
flu that will happen. It is just a matter of when and how bad.
On August 21, 2007; A meeting at the Department of Agriculture over
the new training for the Health Officer for the city of Harrisburg.
My training of her will start the week after Labor Day and continue
until she has reached 60 hours of hands on instruction before you
can take the Civil Service Test to become a Certified State Health
Officer.
On August 21, 2007; A meeting with Neil Luke at the Oakwood
Development with David Dyer to access the sink hole in the back of
some of the townhouses.
On August 22, 2007; A yard inspection to check on the 2100 Block of
Columbia Avenue and Keith Hummel from Penn Waste was also present to
check on the lowness of the wires.
On August 23, 2007; A Meeting with Walt Dinda from DEP, myself, Gary
Myers, Manager, David Dyer and Dean Deitrich, Highway and Assistant
High Way Superintendent’s over what the township needs to do to get
the township in full compliance with Act 101.
On August 23, 2007; A yard inspection at 3619 North 6th Street for
an abandoned puppy. The humane society refused to come and assist
with the dog. The dog was seized by myself and Officer Tim Rogers.
The dog was transported to our kennels in the back and then the
Humane Society would come and pick up the dog.
On August 23, 2007; Quarterly drug testing was completed for the
township.
On August 24, 2007; A re-inspection occurred with Albert
Wrightstone, Jr. assisting with the re-inspection. All of the
violations inside the property were corrected except for the tiles.
The on lot septic system is malfunctioning and needs to be
addressed. Our SEO through HRG is handling this matter.
On August 24, 2007; A court hearing for Josephine Knoll about trash
with Penn Waste. She was absent for the hearing and was found guilty
by abstention.
On August 24, 2007; An inspection occurred at 117 Wading Springs
Lane with Albert Wrightstone, Jr. assisting with the inspection.
Numerous violations were found and photos were taken. A
re-inspection of the property will occur in September.
