SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP
HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPORT FOR FEBRUARY, 2007

ENVIRONMENTAL INSPECTIONS
There were numerous inspections made on premises throughout the Township as a result of complaints, or scheduled survey and these premises were found to have either trash, weeds, or abandoned vehicles as the problem. These and other miscellaneous complaints were corrected or are in the process of correction through personal contact or letter notification.

On February 1, 2007; a Re-Inspection at 1005 Cherrington Court for Scott Graybill. Another inspection is scheduled for March 16, 2007.

On February 5, 2007; a Meeting at Nationwide Café for second phase construction for the kitchen with Albert Wrightstone, Jr., Building Inspector assisting.

On February 5, 2007; a Meeting with the Boy Scout troup of the township about safe food handling and help the boys earn their Health Merit Badge.

On February 6, 2007; a meeting with Commissioners David Pugh and Wendy Johnson, Solicitor Bruce Foreman, George Drees, Fire Marshall, Chief Robert Martin and Gary Myers to discuss the ongoing issues that are occurring at the property at 2305 Canby Street.

On February 7, 2007; a Meeting with Penn Waste, Gary Myers assisting about trash issues with the loaders and the drivers on the routes.

On February 8, 2007; a Housing Code Inspection was conducted at 2107 Walnut Street. Various violations were noted and a re-inspection is scheduled for March.

On February 9, 2007; a Meeting at the former Harrisburg State Hospital with Jan Leblanc from DCS and Albert Wrightstone, Jr.; Building Inspector assisting. DCS is trying to convert the old main kitchen into a facility to help with after school activities for city children.

On February 12, 2007; a Re-Inspection of the property located at 2305 Canby Street. A citation was filed for excessive fireload at the property and a re-inspection will occur on February 27, 2007.

On February 12, 2007; a Re-Inspection of the property located at 3836 Locust Lane. All of the violations were corrected except for total repairing of the back porch. The back porch will be completed later in the spring and a recheck will occur in early summer.

On February 12, 2007; a continuance hearing was held at DJ Shugars office for Ted Russ over a vehicle on Walnut Street which has been removed and the case is now closed.

On February 12, 2007; a re-inspection of the property at 4005 Green Street and the tree removal company was working on the tree. A recheck will be made upon return.

On February 23, 2007; a Re-Inspection was done at 3029 Walnut Street with Albert Wrightstone, Jr.; Building Inspector assisting and all of the violations had been corrected and the case is now closed.

On February 23, 2007; a Re-Inspection was done at the Regal Cinema following a fire on February 17, 2007 while off with George Drees, Fire Marshall assisting. The cinema is using the other popcorn popper until a newer model arrives.

On February 23, 2007; Posting of the property at 2305 Canby Street for loose trash on the back porch of the dwelling which needed to be cleaned up and secured. A recheck will be made on Monday, February 26, 2007.

On February 26, 2007; a meeting with Janet Straw about continuing concerns about her neighbor.

On February 26, 2007; a Re-Inspection of the property located at 2305 Canby Street about loose trash on the back porch. All of the loose trash was picked up and removed from the back porch.

On February 27, 2007; a Re-Inspection of the property located at 2305 Canby Street. Marked improvement on the fireload. No additional citations were issued. Another inspection is scheduled for Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10:00a.m. Albert Wrightstone, Jr., Building Inspector assisted with the inspection.

On February 27, 2007; a Re-Inspection of the property at 3630 Brookridge Terrace, Apt. #202 and all of the violations have been corrected. The apartment is ready to be occupied.

On February 27, 2007; a meeting with a resident, Linda Thomas, over concerns with Penn Waste about the trash bills that went out.

On February 28, 2007; I attended the quarterly meeting of CASA.
