OLD BUSINESS
Lynn’s Report included a lengthy
discussion about the property at 2305
Canby Street and what has occurred during the recent housing code
Inspections. The final inspection occurred on December 11, 2007 with
No new violations being present. A hearing has been set up for Friday,
January 11, 2008 at 10:00a.m. to discuss this case with DJ Shugars.
The Health Board will re-evaluate the situation after this meeting.
The Department of Health has sent some information to the various nurses
Throughout the region and it is up to the nurses on how that information will
Be sent out. Lynn will contact the nurses of the Susquehanna Township
School District and report back at the January meeting.
There was some more discussion about the posting of restaurants on the website
And a representative from the Dept. of Agriculture was not available for the
December meeting. The process will be further evaluated and discussed at the
January Health Board meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
The Commercial brochures was sent out to
693 Commercial Establishments
Within Susquehanna Township on recycling. What is expected and what will
Be required to keep the township in compliance with Act 101-Recycling
An informative session was held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 with 75
Businesses attending the discussion. Some new information was shared. The
Program will begin on January 1, 2008 and a recycling form is required to be
Sent to me by January 31 of each year for the previous year for recycling.
There was a discussion about the recent ice storm and what to do with
Branches that had come down. The board was advised that Code Red has
Been used to inform the residents of the township of what the township
Highway crew will begin doing and when it will start.
Elections were held for 2008 and the President of the Health Board will
Be Dr. Bakare, and Dr. Mark Cohen as Secretary. Both of the nominations
Were made by Dr. Bruce Goodman and seconded by Richard Bronstein.
A farewell was done for Commissioner Wendy Johnson and a book end clock
Was given to her as appreciation for all of her dedicated work on behalf of the
Health Board. We all will miss her and wish her the very best in the future.
