OLD BUSINESS FOR THE HEALTH BOARD MEETING INCLUDED:
Josephine Knoll and the new situation that has developed at the
residence was discussed. A complaint has been received and an initial
inspection was done and found to have an infestation of fruit flies
present throughout the whole house. A letter of violation did go out and
a re-inspection will be occurring next week.
Aagan Restaurant has problems. They have failed the second follow-up
inspection. Another follow-up inspection will occur in early December.
If the restaurant fails that third follow-up then the owner of the
Restaurant will need to come into the Health Board meeting to discuss
the problems with the Restaurant.
It also discussed about the Posting of the Inspections on the website
and I informed the board that there is a meeting scheduled to go over
the program in early December.
NEW BUSINESS BEFORE THE HEALTH BOARD INCLUDED:
The calendar for next year was discussed and approved. There was one
change in September of 2009 moved to September 10 because of a conflict
with the health officer’s schedule.
The Tag-A-Bag System was discussed. The program is designed for
residents to purchase 26 bags for the year at a cost of $3.50 per bag or
$91.00 annually for the cost for the whole year. Residents could
purchase additional bags as needed. The program is designed to help
people who are single households or a resident that is only in the
township for a short period a time.
A recommendation was made by the Health Board to The Board of
Commissioners to consider the Tag-A-Bag program. The motion was made by
Richard Bronstein and seconded by Dr. Mark Cohen that the Health Board
has no objection to the tag-a-bag program if it will save the residents
of the township money.
There was an extensive discussion about 3422 Schoolhouse Lane and the
problems that have been going on at this residence for quite some time.
Albert Wrightstone, Jr., Building Inspector will assist with the next
re-inspection on Wednesday, December 3 to access the situation with the
room attached to the side of the property.
A discussion also occurred about inspecting Rental properties within
Susquehanna Township. Should they be inspected when a tenant vacates the
property. Who would pay for the inspection? The item will be revisited
at the next Health Board Meeting.
ADJOURNMENT: The motion for adjournment was entertained by
Dr. Bruce Goodman and seconded by Richard Bronstein at 12:56p.m. The
meeting was adjourned.
The next Health Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 18,
2008 at Noon.
