MINUTES

SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING
BOARD OF HEALTH NOVEMBER 15, 2007

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Health was called to order by President Bruce Goodman at 12:14p.m. in the Susquehanna Room at Susquehanna Township, 1900 Linglestown Road.

APPROVED MINUTES

Approval of the Health Board Minutes of the October 18, 2007 minutes were approved by Richard Bronstein and seconded by Dr. Bakare.
 

OLD BUSINESS

Lynn’s Report included a lengthy discussion about the property at 2305
Canby Street and what has occurred during the recent housing code
Inspections. The housing code inspections will continue every 2 weeks
Through till December 11, 2007 and after that time a report will be made
To DJ Ray Shugars as to the findings and the recommendations.
Once the housing code inspections have stopped from DJ Shugars then
The Health Board will re-evaluate the situation..

A discussion continued as to where the status was of the resident at
2305 Canby Street as to where the paperwork was with Keystone Mental
Health Services. Lynn Roche stated that the paperwork has been filled out
And we are awaiting when the paperwork is through the system to begin
The evaluation of the resident.

Lynn reported back that she is still checking into the matter with the Dept.
Of Health as to what they have been doing through the schools to increase
Awareness of how important handwashing is in the prevention of diseases.
A full report will be given at the December meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

An extensive discussion occurred about the posting of inspection reports
On the website of the township and also have a link on the Dept of Ag.
Website to link to our website for information on the Restaurants within
The township. Lynn will check with Solicitor Bruce Foreman as to how
This can be done as was done from examples from State College and
The Sunday News from Lancaster.

A feature article will be done with The Patriot News once all of the
Information has been gathered and is ready to publish. Also a
Meeting with all of the restaurants will occur to inform them
Of the changes before any changes are implemented.

A preliminary plan for the Pandemic Flu was discussed and Lynn
Is continuing to work with the EMA on this program.

The new Commercial brochure was shown and discussed about
What would be coming next with all of the Commercial establishments.
An informative meeting will be set up once the brochures go out to
Help answer some of the questions that commercial businesses will
Have.


ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made for adjournment and it was done by Richard
Bronstein and seconded by Carol Peters. The meeting was adjourned
At 12:49p.m.

The next scheduled meeting for the Health Board will be on
Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Noon.
