OLD BUSINESS FOR THE HEALTH BOARD MEETING INCLUDED:

An extensive discussion occurred about the new House Bill 1422 and what the impact will be on local Health Departments including ours. The only part of this bill that the township is not doing is the part of posting the inspections on the website. A representative from the Department of Agriculture will be asked to come to the November 20, 2008 meeting to explain this more fully.

NEW BUSINESS BEFORE THE HEALTH BOARD INCLUDED:

Lynn’s report stated that the property at 2305 Canby Street was doing very well and no new complaints had been received

Lynn also stated that several Restaurants are having some problems and failing some inspections and some are improving. Reports were provided to members of the Health Board for their review.

Richard Bronstein spoke about the EMS for Susquehanna Township and the fact that the membership is down to 8% for this year of renewals and the concerns that he has for the organization.

Suggestions were made to get volunteers to teach classes, canvassing over the internet, come up with fundraising activities to raise funds.

Dr. Bruce Goodman offered assistance to assist the EMS on finding instructors to teach classes.

There was also discussion about some areas of violations throughout the township and Lynn Roche will investigate these areas and report back to the Board at the November meeting.

ADJOURNMENT: The motion for adjournment was entertained by Richard Bronstein and seconded by Carol Peters at 12:50p.m. The meeting was adjourned.

The next Health Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Noon.
