MINUTES

SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING
BOARD OF HEALTH APRIL 15, 2010
The Regular Meeting of the Susquehanna Township Health Board met and was called to order by President Richard Bronstein at 12:20 p.m. in the Susquehanna Room at the Susquehanna Township Municipal Building.

A motion was made by Mark Cohen, O.D. and seconded by Ayodeji Bakare, M.D.. to accept the Health Board Minutes from March 18, 2010 meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

CITIZENS: None

LYNN’S REPORT:

The Pan Tree Restaurant and Rose’s Vietnamese Cuisine both passed their follow-up
Inspections. Okini and Empire Asian Bistro failed their routine inspections and follow-up inspections will occur shortly.

OLD BUSINESS:

The training is continuing for the Garrison System. Another training session is scheduled for the beginning of May to go out in the field and use the Garrison System. The instruction is being conducted by the Department of Agriculture, Region #2.


NEW BUSINESS:

A change in the current Ordinance for Chapter 10-Health and Safety under Property Maintenance was reviewed by the Health Board and will be going to the Board of Commissioners Meeting at the May Meeting for approval.

Discussion also occurred about the Lash Law and what the ordinance says. It was discussed that the current Animal Ordinance states that an animal must be either on a leash or under voice command. An amended proposal will be discussed at the next Health Board Meeting and presented to the Board of Commissioners at the July Meeting
after the change is advertised in the newspaper.

A Motion was made by the Health Board to have Solicitor Bruce Foreman prepare an Ordinance change to be presented at the May Health Board Meeting. The motion was made by Carol Peters and seconded by Dr. Bakare. The motion was carried unanimously.

A proposal to change the existing Yard Waste Collection to eliminate the months of December and February will be presented at the May Health Board Meeting;

There was some discussion also about the development being done over on Crooked Hill Road about the drainage. Zoning Officer Michael Rohrer explained that this is a construction site and the runoff situation will be finalized when the project is completed.

There was also discussion about a property at 1000 Brittany Blvd. Solicitor Bruce Foreman advised to send a written notice to the owners of the property informing them of the concerns that the township has with the property. If nothing is done to the property then the township will step in and make the building secure until the property is resold.

A motion was made by Carol Peters and seconded by Dr. Bakare, M.D. to adjourn. The Health Board meeting was adjourned at 12:47p.m.

Next Health Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Noon
