APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

The Health Board Minutes from the February 21, 2008 meeting were approved by Dr. Bruce Goodman and seconded by Richard Bronstein.

OLD BUSINESS FOR THE HEALTH BOARD MEETING INCLUDED:

Lynn’s Report talked about the ongoing situation at 2305 Canby Street and that a housing code inspection had been conducted on March 18, 2008. No new violations were present and the resident was encouraged to reduce the amount of fireload in the basement. Another housing code re-inspection will occur in April.

There was an extensive discussion about the posting of restaurant inspection on our website. The discussion about where to go from here with posting on the website was asked by Health Officer Roche to be postponed to the April meeting for Fire Marshal George Drees to comment on the situation.

Commercial recycling is going well and the tonnage reported to Dauphin County thus far is that the commercial businesses within the township recycled in 2007 1, 683.04 tons of cardboard, office paper, plastics from #1 through #7, glass and bi-metal cans.

NEW BUSINESS BEFORE THE HEALTH BOARD INCLUDED:

Weis Markets was the topic of discussion at the March Health Board meeting and what to do about the situation that the store continues to fail inspections. It was requested that Lynn Roche send a letter to the corporate office in Sunbury and advise Weis Markets at the headquarters what is going on with the Restaurant. A re-inspection of the store will occur before the letter is sent. The store has already failed one follow-up inspection
A motion was made by Dr. Mark Cohen and seconded by Dr. Bruce Goodman to send a letter to the corporate office of Weis Markets to advise them of the situation and how concerned our Health Board is for the store continuing to fail inspections.

ADJOURNMENT:

The motion for adjournment was entertained by Dr. Ayodeji Bakare, M.D. and seconded by Richard Bronstein at 12:39p.m. The meeting was adjourned.

THE NEXT HEALTH BOARD MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 2008 AT NOON
